Intel security vulnerability

I'm not very tech savy at all, so please keep that in mind.

This is a brand spankin new build that I just recently completed for my wifes christmas present.

I went to the gigabyte page to download the new security update for my motherboard. It downloaded, I extracted the file, and was then given an error.

I have added a link to a couple images, one of my system information and another showing the error message.

Thank you! I will try this as soon as I get a chance and let you know how it goes.

Honestly... I'm a bit terrified. The computer is working fine now... I feel like when I do this its going to mess it all up some how.

There is always a small chance you will brick the board , so only perform if really needed.

I would leave it as is if it's running great.

I was wondering about this. The article I read made it sound fairly important... do you think the risk is worth it? In your opinion?
