Internet Explorer - How do I delete autocomplete entries in the URL bar?

Whenever I type any letter in URL bar of Internet Explorer 10 I get a list of websites I have visited in the past.

For example if I type the letter "a" in the url bar it shows all the websites I have gone to with the letter "a". For example abc.com, about.com, amazon.com, etc....

I have tried going to tools -> Internet options -> General tab -> Delete browser history and attempted to delete the browser history. This of course deletes the history but the autocomplete items in the URL bar remain.

I have tried Tools -> Internet Options -> Content Tab -> Autocomplete Settings -> Delete autocomplete history. To my frustration this did nothing.

Anyone able to help?

You can delete them individually by dropping the list down and moving the mouse to the right hand-side. A cross then appears and you can delete them. This might depend on the ie version
