Solved! Inverter lamp for dell 1521 computer

Hello,
my lcd screen will not lite up. when i plug it in to another screen every thing functions fine. do i need a new screen or just an inverter lamp.

Take a flash light and hold it up to the screen (with the other unhooked) while the laptop is on. If you can see things with the flashlight, it is a bad backlight; if you can't, it's the inverter.
