iPhone 4 as a remote

I have an LG Smart TV...Am I able to use my Iphone, as a remote, either to turn it on and change the channel, as well as connect to the Internet ? Thank you.

No. Your phone does not have an IR blaster, so it cannot send out IR signals to TVs. You would need to get a special attachment/adapter to add IR capabilities to the phone.
