I don't like apple phones because they have only one design to chose from... I hate that. I hate having the same type of phone as another 50 million or more ppl

"The precision at which its made.."

Toot your own horn much? Jobs is a tool and this is just one more apple product to not let in my house.

"It's so tightly packed inside that Jobs said that going with a Micro SIM rather than a regular SIM was a necessity."

Or maybe the necessity was stopping people from using normal Sprint Sim cards?

Oh and why not add some pictures with the families of those poor Foxconn employees to that collection?

(why can't I edit my post in the forums?)

You can make a micro sim by cutting a regular sim down to size, so I doubt thats the case.

[citation][nom]soldier37[/nom]Really and how many people actually own one compared to the iphone. Dumbass![/citation]

More than you think. Way to insult the man too for his opinion. Real class-act.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm anti-apple (which I am), but I really don't see any major features that aren't to be expected. The screen looks good, I expect that when purchasing a device. It has a decent camera, although it's now only average in the smartphone market. They blurt out all their BS battery ratings as usual; people should ignore those, and those are in absolutely ideal conditions. I just don't see any reason to pay the high price for what similar Droid phones can offer me for less money.

[citation][nom]rhangman[/nom]iOS? They get that from Cisco along with iPhone or they going to cough up some more cash?[/citation]
LOL I was thinking the same thing. Someone's going to get sued... :\

[citation][nom]tayb[/nom]When this goes on sale it will be the best phone on the market. Sorry Droid Incredible. You were an incredible device (ha) but with what iPhone 4 is packing you lose the crown. The A4 is very fast for a smart phone and although the iPhone OS is not "open" I still prefer the interface to Android. (Having an open OS does not make it a better OS) The video chatting looks very fun and the device looks nice from my personal opinion. Let the Apple bashing begin. Oh wait I'm much to late for that. Let the Apple bashing continue.[/citation]

Oh shoot, it looks like you forgot about the EVO 4G which came out this last weekend, which packs better hardware and software than the new iPhone. Apple's new phone is already in second place.

HTC EVO 4G, is hands down (so far) best Android OS based phone. It has : 1.3 Megapixel secondary camera, HDMI output, 4.3 inch screen, 8 megapixel AF camera, 720p 24fps video recording and a whopping 440MB of internal memory (with a possibility to extend it by adding a microSDHC card). If that's not enough, you can use it over regular 3G network to make your video calls.

Yes, it doesn't have 802.11n support, a gyroscope, a 960x640 resolution display (doubt anyone would be able to differ the two side by side under direct sunlight) and the 30fps 720p that an iPhone 4G has.

I wonder how many fanboys are gonna throw away their perfectly functionl 3GS for this. Its gonna cost them their asses for a few nights.

Oh yeah, now I see. iPhone 4 is because of OS4. That means its still gonna have 3G and not 4G. So I guess the next step is iPhone 4G, and then iPhone 4GS (slightly modded 4G). And like always, fanboys are gonna throw away their new iPhones to buy it. Well at least it has multitasking.

Utter domination.

I don't care if someone's 3 year old phone had a crappy implementation of video or multi-tasking... I care about what's out today (or... June 24th 😛) and how it stacks up right now.

Awesome release by Apple.

And a hands on review by engadget as well:

Every reviewer out there seems to be digging it and blown away by the thinness, build quality, and screen quality.

the iPhone looks awesome but what good is a great phone that has the crapiest network in the US behind it? So until Jobs pulls his head out of his ass and his support from ATT then there is not a chance in Hades that I will purchase this phone.

The Iphone4 smooth flat surfaces looks really nice, 960x640 is nice too, but on a 3.5in screen how are you able to read the tiny text without zooming? They should add at least a 4in screen or stretch the screen at the top and bottom towards the edge. 4G service on AT&T? My sister who has the iphone 3GS can't even get 3G where she lives.

I don't see what this phone can do that my EVO can't.I got my EVO last Friday and can't put the damn phone down!

[citation][nom]anhxeom[/nom]service on AT&T?[/citation]

No mention of 4G, only 3G. It is the iPhone 4, no 'G' on it and no-where in the article does it mention 4G service/network.

[citation][nom]Smochina[/nom]Because we, developers, do not like this openness crap. WE HAVE FAMILIES TO SUPPORT and Apple is the ONLY phone manufacturer that gets us money.[/citation]

so go be an Accountant or something! any developer who LIKES the iphone dev platform has something wrong with them. I have developed on every platform under the sun and it is by far the worst! it should be up to developers to believe in them selves enough to actually charge money for their work, not Apple to tell them to so they can take a 30% cut for doing sweet FA!

I agree that the software market has been UNDER VALUED by open source, hobbit, for whom it isn't their day job. and that is a shame, but I'm not going to artificially hamper end users by adding so much control as to FORCE them to pay more for, in most cases, SHIT, poor quality apps!

I actually think that this is a very nice piece of tech that Apple built, and helps raise the bar again. The Evo 4G doesn't have the pixel density this thing has, the picture and video quality is excellent (I'm not convinced current 8MP phones have good enough lenses to have better image quality), the OS is getting a little bump in quality once again, and was already solid... I'm happy. This will force companies like Moto and HTC to continue to push out better Android products.

What I'm wondering about, is the A4 chip in this thing. How does it compare against something more well known, like a 1GHz Snapdragon? Is the GPU better than what was found in the 3GS?
