Iphone flash durability ?

i donwloaded a flashlight app with strobe function that uses the cameras flash and i like it tho first thing that comes to mind is i was wondering seeming the flash is not meant to work as a flash light or strobe can using this app quickly break the camera flash or is it fairly safe to use it as wanted ?

The iphone flash is led right? (I don't know because I don't own any apple product ever in my life). If it is led then it is safe to use it as a flashlight. I have led flash on nokia 5800 and always use it as flashlight, no problem.
