Hello Laptop community.

My laptop is one of those laptops that you wish you could just put aside and buy a new one. That aside, is 110°F+ just way to hot for a typical laptop on Google Chrome?

Using Hard Disk Sentinel, I found out that my computer keeps a 111°F temperature at idle and has went up to 129°F as it's highest temperature.

I am nervous if this will affect performance or destroy the laptop quicker. The laptop I have is slim and has barely any air vents. I hope someone can help me!

Sincerely,
Anthony V.

Ok, thanks! Do you think that dropping a laptop from a high height (6 feet) could have something to do with this?

ouch...run diagnostic on your HDD..but to answer your question maybe check if the fan still spins ok not to slow..

Solution

Thank you for the help! Do you know any good diagnostic tools? Right now, I am using Hard Disk Sentinel. I don't know if that is a good well-known application for diagnosing the HDD.

well HT Tune, WD Data lifeguard, Seagate's Seatools, Fujitsu's Disk Test, Samsung HUTIL and Hitachi's Drive Fitness test.

Thank you for the help qazzi! I guess you answered all of my questions.
