Is a cheap USB sound card/ adapter any good?

Solution
This device relies on the internal sound of your PC (as if you were wearing headphones plugged into it). I am not sure if the audio quality will be good or not, but assuming the device works, it should be the equivalent of plugging your headphones into a jack on a PC.

However, if you want a good sound card, look into the Creative series. I go with no one else, solid products.

It does not rely on the internal sound card and I use a simple usb adapter for my headset. I can't speak for that one but most usb sound adapters are decent enough.

If you are looking to upgrade the audio something that cheap is not likely to sound any better than the audio your mobo would have. Might even be worse if you have a decent rig.
