Is a Fortec a Pansat

the Fortec lifetime ultra and the Pansat 2500a seem to have the same specs and
about the same price. Is the difference in the software only?

They are suspiciously very similar. Even the two reviews in Tele Satellite
magazine used almost identical wording; as if they had just changed the
names in the WP document. The only two differences I can see are that the
Fortec has Scart connections and the Pansat doesn't, but this is
superficial; and that the Pansat scanned 80 transponders in four minutes
whereas the Fortec took ten. This might suggest an update to the software.

It would be interesting to hear responses from the two companies.

The only difference between the Fortec Lifetime Ultra model and the Pansat
2500A is the software installed. Otherwise, they are identical in regards to
features. The Pansat 2500AM has SCART connections, the 2500A is made for
North American market so there is no need for SCART.

The Pansat also has the ability to control a polarotor. I dont believe
the Fortec has that? I have heard that they are made by the same
company in Korea, but some of the components are diffrent. I do not have
both to compare though.
