Is digital antenna TV better than cable basic service?

We have a great HD TV that gets super clear picture over the air with a simple digital antenna. We got cable to increase the channel choices. But cable TV picture is awful fuzzy, even for same local channels that are beautiful when using our antenna. Does the cable company downgrade the resolution? Or can I solve this without paying cable company to get the same nice quality as our local over-the-air local channels provide?

Sound like issue with your cable signal, contact your cable company

Maybe by paying for HD service.

But OTA video quality will tend to be better, is not compressed, the cable provider does.
