I wonder if my rig would be compatible to HTC Vive. Responses are appreciated.

CPU: Intel i5-6600
GPU: Zotac GTX 1050ti OC edition
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4GB+4GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Additional question
In the box of the GPU I have , it says VR Ready on the upper right. If it is not VR compatible, can I return it back to the shop I bought it?

Solution
Your graphics card isn't really powerful enough to run an HTC Vive, at least not many of the more demanding games.

Due to the ASW feature, your setup would run an Oculus Rift quite well. I believe that's why there's a VR Ready sticker on the GPU box.
If you have steam then you can use their software to test compatibility, Oculus rift has one too.

is gtx 980ti more powerful than gtx1050ti?

Yes. The GTX 980 ti is better then the GTX 1050 and would meet the requirements. I suspect your ram may be on the bubble. But run the Steam VR test.

It means it's borderline. In some of the less demanding content it may be alright, but more demanding games won't run smoothly.
