Is it safe to use Jave yet?

I just got received the latest update to Java (10.17.2.2) and am wondering if it is safe to enable it in FF and IE? So far, I have been leaving it disabled and only enabling it when necessary; then disabling it again. I run MSE for virus and Malwarebytes for malware.

Oracle have updated and hopefully fixed holes, so yes go ahead, sooner or later another hole will be found. Personally, I have never switched it off and I visit some interesting sites ,) and never had a problem or even an alert from my AV.
