Is it worth getting a laptop with an onboard fermi gpu?

I am wondering how many of you guys will actually purchase a $1500-$2000 laptop with a fermi mobile gpu that is said to be coming out.

Would rather buy this and burn your desk or build a great desktop and buy a decent basic laptop?

Depends on how badly crippled it ends up being. They are going to have to reduce clock speeds as well as the number of CUDA cores to fit within the thermal envelope. No matter how you slice it, it's going to be crippled in some way, hot and power hungry. I see gaming laptops with 30 minutes battery life

Yeah most of them have at the very most an hour and a half with gaming, I guess real gaming laptops are just meant for desktop replacements and are usually just plugged in/on to the desk and the users just switch it off anf on upon ussage and never really take it or use it as a mobile device, this totally defeats the purpose and eventually kills the battery. Might as well but a decent desktop or a nettop...
