I'm looking at two very similar laptops (the MSI GX740-079 and the MSI GX640-260). These two laptops are exactly the same in most things, the differences being:

The GX7 is about $300 more expensive.
The GX7 is 17 inch, while the GX6 is 15 inch (resolution is the same)
GX7 has an Intel i7-720QM while the GX6 has an Intel i5-450M
The GX7 has an ATI Radeon HD5870, while the GX6 has an HD5850 (both DDR5)
The GX7 can run Crysis without a problem at maxed settings, while the GX6 can run it at high settings without a problem, not maxed however.

This laptop will be primarily for gaming, I don't need to be able to run every game flawlessly in maxed out settings but certainly in high settings would be nice, I'm not concerned about today's games but the reason I would consider the GX7 is as security against the future, so that I can still play future games for the next 3 years in relatively high settings. I'm not sure if the GX6 will be able to do that, and how much of a performance difference there is between the GX7 and the GX6, and wether its worth the extra $300. Thoughts?

IMO its worth it unless you need a 15" laptop and more battery life.Because GX740 has better VGA and better CPU(in multi-threaded apps/games)
