Is my laptop over heat?

Hi,

I just bought a new laptop for gaming and i saw that the CPU is getting pretty hot and that the fans makes a lot of noises. So i wondered if it is overheating? The temps are 40-50 degres celsius when idle but when i am playing game like csgo or rocket league the temps gets to 75-85 degres should i be worried

PS : my laptop is the ROG GL703 VM with a GTX 1060.

Yes that does seem pretty high, Is the laptop exhaust fan being blocked by anything that's prevent the CPU from cooling?

Hi,

No my laptop doesn't have anything blocking the fans. I put it on some books beacause i was thinking that the fan were blocked but that didn't solved anything. Plus i saw this video of this guy that he said it was normal i don't know if you could check it out?

It could seem normal for that type of laptop. I used to have one that ran at 71C and was just fine. If you are getting other problems that is caused from high temps than that is an issue. Otherwise if not then you probably are fine. Laptop fans will sound louder because they are smaller fans spinning faster. Unlike a tower cooler those are bigger fans

Thank you for the quick answer, but i have another questions. Do you think i should buy a cooling pad and if i do will it really affect the temps for like 10 degres? Because i don't really like the fact that my laptop is going to some 80-85 degres while playing game like rocket league.

Does you laptop exhaust air out the side or back?

There is some fan under like to right and left corner plus it has one over the keyboard and the last one is on the back

Ok, Yes if its got vents on the bottom you could try a cooling pad. Just don't worry to much. If laptop is shutting down and other stuff than that's an issue

If the laptop is still in warranty you can always as for support from the company of your laptop

You should be perfectly fine! Just tell if you notice new problems. Im reading that others say the fan does run loud when it needs to cool. Don't worry, just game!

Hi i got another question. Is it normal that sometime the temp goe to the 60 to 70 to 80 or 90 in one game. Nothing special is happening but sometimes the temps goes to 60 all the game and other times it goes to 80. Also when it goes down like to 70 it will come back to 85 but like in 1 second.
