Solved! Is my processor still good/ laptop upgrade

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio SVT15114CXS laptop about 5 years old. It has been slowing down. I have done a clean install of windows 10, system still pretty sluggish. I suspect it’s due to not enough ram as it often tops out (and HDD also). As I don’t have funds to buy a whole new laptop, I’m looking to upgrade this one with additional ram (at least 8gb) and an SDD.

I use it for heavy internet browsing, and large document creation in word mainly and I need to be able to multitask.

Specs:
Intel i5 processor
4gb ram
600gb HDD (hybrid 32gb is SDD)

My concern is if my processor is worn out the upgrade won’t matter. Is it worth it?

there is no upgrade for the cpu and a weak dual core. ok for web browsing

Thanks for your reply. I am not looking to change the cpu, just asking for advice if upgrading the ram n drive would make a difference in my laptop or not. (Don’t wanna put down money if it won’t matter due to weak cpu)

ram and ssd upgrade would help. it would be ok for what you use it for.
