Hi guys,
My laptop has these specs:
System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
System Series / Model: Satellite C850-B718
Motherboard: Intel - PLCSF8
Total Installed Memory: 6 GB Vram: 1gb
Memory Type: DDR3
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7500/7600 Series 4gb

I am planning to upgrade my ram from 6gb to 8gb or 12gb or 16gb and removing my optical drive (it's broken) with a 128gb or 256gb ssd

My questions are:
1)Are these specs enough for playing modern games?
2) Do I need a mounting kit to insert my ssd?
3) Which ssd do you think is better: 128gb/256gb ? I just want to install my windows and programs in my ssd?
4) I know that that the thing that mostly matters for gaming is GPU so can you suggest any external GPU within $100???
5) And what is the minimum size of ram is needed to be installed for gaming???

SORRY for asking many questions but pleasssssseeee help!!!!:(

1) you have some sort of a discrete gpu so I would look up your gpu and look at benchmarks for that for whatever games you want to play.
2) You probably will but I'm not an authority on that
3) 128 will get you through windows and programs ONLY. You cannot store games or movies on it
4) You cannot get an egpu without having an enclosure and the proper ports and connections for it. Do some research on that and tell me if your laptop is compatible.
5) I would say a good minimum is 6 Gb

Thanks for the answer.
1)Can you please check or can you tell me where should I check ?
2)Then I better get a mounting kit
3)So you say 128gb is fine?
4)Ok I will check
5) I already have a 6gb ram

It seems your gpu is not good enough. For example I have the gtx 960m here's yours vs. mine : http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7600G-IGP-vs-GeForce-GTX-960M. My card came out in 2015 whereas yours came out in 2012. Depending on what you want to run I can tell you if it'll pass the mark but with such and
Old laptop I'd recommend saving for a new one
Here's another benchmark: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/9552/AMD-Radeon-HD-7600M

Thanks again.
Your gpu is cool!
I don't need to save for a new one but I can't buy a new one because of my parents:pfff: so I thought I would just upgrade it a bit.

Hey man, I was in your position until I got into college. Your parents mostly want the best for you and just listen to them. You probably only have a few years left with them anyways. But definitely don't invest anymore into the laptop you have right now. Not worth it
