If your laptop has a firewire port you can transfer the footage to the computer via a firewire cable. If you are using a Windows based machine you can import the footage using Windows MovieMaker and if you are using a Mac you can use iMovie to import the footage. If you don't have a firewire port you may want to consider acquiring one that plugs into a ExpressCard slot or PCMCIA card slot.
