is there any benfit to better optical cables

i need a new 35ft optical cable for my 500w 5.1 sound system
here are the two that monoprice has
one is twice the price of the other.
so first is there really a difrance?
and second is it worth it?

Some say they hear a difference, some say they don't. Some decry plastic toslink in favor of glass. Largely, a digital cable is a digital cable. The "quality" is mostly a result of how well it's terminated. Regardless, this is one of those debates that is subjective and based around audiophile gear.

Between those two cables / your application, none of it should matter.
