is there any dual cpu laptop, cause i checked online and couldn't find any. wonder if anyone had any luck finding one as i would like to use one.

No market for this. Amazingly, the laptop makers actually have whole divisions to determine what things they should make. And what might actually make money.

There is apparently no real market for a dual-CPU server level 'laptop'.

yeah too bad they didn't think of it, cause i would love a laptop that basically has no slow down on it. i have a dual xeon workstation and it's my favorite machine by far. compared it to a dual core cpu and it's not the same.

Most assuredly that has been discussed in corporate design rooms. The 45 minute battery runtime is what killed it from being a product on the shelf.

usaf, i mean why put dual gpu's in a laptop? there is a market for it, i bet people would buy it, that's badass if you ask me. like video editing or something and heavy multitasking. i mean i love the new cpu's but it doesn't stack up to a dual cpu system, i just love how they feel so fast and responsive compared to that. what do you mean no market? i'm sure people would jump on the oppurtunity if they saw it. think about it, no slow down laptop, that sounds outrageous. i think it's because of manufacturing costs. that's just my guess so don't quote me on it.

well, i'm saying couldn't they implement a tdp that is low for the xeon? i mean i've seen low tdp xeon systems i believe and it's not like they couldn't do it, again i think it's a market thing where they didn't think it would be worth it. i think that's just their excuse, that's just my two cents though. so to speak like special motherboard for dual cpu laptops. again it's just a guess.

wasn't there like pentium d laptops that was eating twice as much energy as single core back in the day? i mean seriously, i see what your saying about the battery life, but something isn't right here...

If you want/need that much power...a workstation, and remote in from a thin laptop. Putting all that in a laptop is large, power hungry, and hot.
Negating what it means to have a 'laptop'.

Physics does actually enter in to the equation. It's bad enough trying to make a 'gaming laptop' that doesn't melt down. Dual CPUs, as in a server? I see a puddle of plastic.

yeah but like pentium d's ate a lot of power too, if not twice as much i believe. plus they were stacked in the same cpu. why not just just make dual xeon laptop, again, i think it's because of the problem of market share. who's actually gonna know that it's worth it, plus, xeon is a whole new platform for laptops so i wouldn't expect them to shell out a pretty paycheck for it. i think it's a market scheme they didn't want to touch, which is why i haven't been buying anything new since my first new cpu nowadays. i just don't agree with them and i don't see a puddle of plastic. cause the pentium d already proved this is not accurate. i mean think about it. how would they implement a xeon workstation to people, how many would jump on a new idea except people like me that love power and know about dual cpu systems. not many, if you were trying to imply that, then i'd understand and just feel bummed out. other then that, that's just my two cents, i think they should make it.

dammnit, that's so disappointing though. there really isn't. oh well, i guess i will never see my dream machine in action. i guess that's my answer no market for this. thanks... i guess i just wanted to hear it. LMFAO.
