Is there any way to disable the airplane mode button completely? (Dell Inspiron 17 / Windows 8.1)

I have a Dell Inspiron 17 laptop. On the keyboard there's a special button that enables and disables the airplane mode. Is there a way to completely disable this button?

Remove the wireless card then you wont have it at all. Theres probably a program for it somewhere

If I remove the wireless card, wouldn't that mean I can't connect to the internet wirelessly?

Yup. Well unless theres a program installed that can disable airplane mode you cant disable it

Windows 8.1 airplane mode is part of the OS and you can't modify Windows. Shutting of the wireless card does the same thing.

Now that makes more sense. Disable the wireless card in device manager when you want to shut off airplane mode. Taking your computer apart to disable a feature is absurd.

Alot of models just have a wireless on and off switch

Yea all I want is to have the wifi on but disable the key entirely. It's annoying to have the function because I use f12 a lot and I keep hitting the airplane mode button accidentally D8

I am not sure if this will work for Dell, but on my HP Spectre x360, I went into the BIOS by restarting and repeatedly pressing F10, and then I went to System Configuration, and then disabled Action Keys. Hope this helps!
