Is this a good laptop please help!

So ill be starting college in about a month now and I have to buy a laptop through costco and i wanted to keep the budget around 600 and 700 max so I found this

I was wondering if this would be a decent laptop for a college freshmen who just needs it for everyday college needs I will be living on campus BUT my house is only like 30 minutes from campus so will be going home frequently so don't need a laptop that is a desktop replacement. If you find another laptop on costco that is less then 700 that you think would be a better investment please let me know or if you think that this is a good purchase please let me know.

The link works for me. It looks like a solid notebook for a good price. Before you purchase it, wait for the next "deals of the day" that is routinely posted on the front page of the main site. www.tomshardware.com. The deals of the day for today(Aug 23) should be up within a few hours. If nothing catches your eye then the Hp Envy you are looking at will be just swell!

The link worked for me. It is an HP Envy 14 for $599 with
Core i5 2.4Ghz
6GB RAM
500GB 7200 RPM HDD
Radeon 6630

Doesn't look horrible for general school work and watching videos, web surfing. You could probably go cheaper for those uses.

OP, do you have a preference of where you purchase at? Costco is a good place to buy because they will accept returns easily. Here is the current Tom's Deals
