You need to define what will you do with the laptop?
If its only daily browsing and office work, a A$330 lenovo with SSD should be suffice. SSD for me is a must have since it save battery and more than 7x faster than any HDD which save you a lot of time.

No, it isn't worth $649 Aud and without SSD HDD it would be bad choice.
