Issue with firmware update of FinePix REAL 3D W3 camera.

Hey everyone,

I am in the process of updating the firmware of my "fujifilm FinePix REAL 3D W3" camera as it adds functionality according to the notes.

The problem I am having is that looking at the instructions here:

http/www.fujifilm.com/support/3d/software/firmware/finepix_real3dw3/download.html

...about half-way down the page (Step 2) it says that I must have the software from the bundled CD installed as part of the process.

Thing is I don't have the CD and I'm having trouble finding out what software it contains and if it's actually really necessary at all.

So it's probably a long-shot, but can anyone who has successfully gone through the process of updating firmware on the FinePix REAL 3D W3 let me know what's really required for it to work?

You might want to look here: http/www.fujifilm.com/support/3d/software/firmware/finepix_real3dw3/download.html
You might need the FPUpdateV transfer program (scroll down the page from the link above to find it). The directions on that page state you need the transfer program to be able to do the firmware update.

edit: I see the link I provided is the one you had already listed. This is a link (http/www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/#application) to other software such as the FinePix Viewer, RAW File Converter, PC AutoSave and others. I wish I could have been more helpful.

Hey Ken, I ended up contacting fuji film support and contrary to the misleading instructions on the website, the software on the CD was not actually needed.

I have updated the firmware and all is well.
