First of all, I have a Windows 7 32 bit recently I have been trying to find the updated wrench icon in chrome now known to be a group of three horizontal lines in the chrome main page. However, the only thing I found were the 9 squares in three rows. So I am wondering how to get the main icon with these 3 lines?

Solution
ALT+F or ALT+E should open the menu button you are referring to. The current icon has 3 dots, and I believe that has been true since chrome 49 or so. Check that you have the most up to date version of the browser.
