ITunes freezes when I connect iPod Touch 3g 32GB

So I'm trying to connect my ipod touch 3g to my win 7 x64 computer. i open itunes and everything is going smooth. then i connect my ipod and itunes freezes. when i disconnect my ipod, itunes starts working again.

my computer recognizes that the ipod is connected (i get the sound and a notification)

anyone have a solution? thanks

update: i fixed it by jailbreaking my ipod

itunes = fail
