Hi I am trying to download java because apparently it is not already on my computer. I have Windows 7 and the latest version of Firefox. I keep getting an error message which states "The installer cannot proceed with the current internet connection settings." It references a help area (http://java.com/en/download/help/) but I still can't figure out what connection settings I need to repair. As far as I know I don't use a proxy. (I'm not even sure what one is.) Does anyone know what settings this error is referring to, and how I can fix them? Thanks so much!!! (Oh, there was a similar question on here from 2011 but it seems like it was never quite resolved.)
