I have installed the latest version of Java. I have restarted my computer. I cannot run Java. Every website I visit crashes by saying that I do not have Java installed. When I go to the Java website to test my current version of Java, it says that it is installed, updated, and running correctly. I really hate Windows 8.1.

The 32 bit version of java is for 32 bit browsers, not 32 bit OSes (see: https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml). He has a 64 bit OS since he was able to install the offline 64 bit version of Java. To OP, install the 32bit version of Java. As well, which browser are you using? Have you tried using a different one?

Thank you both for your assistance. I am a woman by the way. I have the 64 bit version of Windows 8.1 and am running Windows Explorer version 11. One thing I did not try was to uninstall the previous version of Java prior to installing the updated one. I assumed the new version would automatically overwrite the older one. I will try to uninstall and then re-install again. Again, thank you both for your help. I will post an update shortly.
