I do but he doesn't give enough information for me to know what's happening. Also it's kind of late now

He doesn't, because he expects you to derive the answer yourself. Instead of it being given to you.

That is the whole point of taking the class.

It's really early in the course and we don't have the prior knowledge. This is one our first assignments and he hasn't taught us what we have to know to answer it.

I've used this plugin for audio recording and had fewer problems with it that NanoGong. It's fast and converts audio to MP3 too:
