Hiya,
I just installed a new ethernet card in my self-built PC - and now the sound won't work.
Before installation, when I plugged my headphones into the front jack of my PC, they would work and I could hear. Now, all I hear is static. I've tried the same through the audio jacks on the back of my PC, on them, I just get silence.

I've also tried reinstalling the Realtek drivers, but no luck there.

If you can help me, I'll be really grateful. Thanks!

on your rig if you have a enthernet port already on the mb make sure it off. also try turning off com port 1/2/ and the printer ports if your not using them. could be when you put the card in it took over the irq ir memory range of the sound card. last move the ethernet card see if the sound card comes back.
