kb errors, constant beeping, norton screwy

Keyboard stopped working properly and some keys took me to utilities, run, etc. although it worked in MSOffice. I opened the cpu (xp on e machine) and vacuumed, unplugged and replugged everything in and outside the cpu, put it back together and nothing changed. Next morning the kb worked for a about an hour, then went back to faulty on web and everywhere else. Then my Norton browser protection and internet intrusion prevention went off and will not go on. I turned off computer for the nite. This morning, i opened it up and my kb is working but there is a constant short beep. When I unplugged the kb from the usb port the beeping continued. i replugged and the kb is still working. norton is still goofed up. What do I do next?

Completely uninstall Norton then re-install it.

Constant short beep - - is it occurring in Windows or at boot time?
