Okay, I'm really new to this so forgive me if I don't make sense.

I rent a room in a house that provides internet via Comcast. I have two seperate routers, that I own, that connect all my computers/gaming systems to their main router. I'm not trying to do anything illegal online, I'm just very uncomfortable with the fact that people can get in and see my stuff.

So, I'm wondering if there's a way to block access to my computers and/or my two routers. My landlord himself is extremely nosy and he's already tried several times to get into my stuff. Any and all help would be appreciated.

And I can do this even though my routers are connected to theirs?

Using VPN would be helpful. It could help you to be safe. Also, try to change your WPA2 password into a strong one. It would be helpful to use a combination of numbers and letters. Just don't use terms that are are related to your name, birthday and any personal info that people could easily think off.

Hi Shane ... According to what you demand the best idea as people have mentioned above is a VPN or Virtual Private Networks. Their job is to do two things: 1. Hide your real IP address and 2. Hide your online activity and route it through another IP address based in another country.

VPN are optimized to code your data into meaningless alpha numeric characters through data encryption algorithms. So they are brilliant for email, browsing, chat and social network feeds. TO hide your download and gaming activity same rules apply. Hope it help message me if you need help choosing one... cheers buddy.

There are many reasons why people should keep their information private. First of all, identity theft is more rampant now than it has ever been, and many people are using the information that they find online as a way of stealing identities. Some people use social security numbers, driver's license numbers and other information as a way of opening up a loan or credit card in someone else's name.

If you are using Comcast I suggest use a VPN service, although they are provide fast internet they are the worst providers when it comes to your online privacy. You may be able to protect your passwords and restrict access but the ISP will still see your online activity and nose around with your connection.
