Solved! Keyboard registers on key release and not on press.

My mom's hp envy has a really annoying quirk that is effecting her work. Her key stroke doesn't register until the release. Is there any software change to make the stroke register on the initial press (down stroke). Or is it just the physical engineering of the keyboard. She needs the arrow keys to navigate text documents quickly and the waiting to register on the upstroke is giving the feel of lack of control. The keys register when being held down, so theoretically there's no reason it can't trigger the event on the down stroke. She uses windows 10.

Solution
That is rather odd. It should register on the down rather than the release.

Try the following and see if it helps...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.
