Solved! kodi linux problem

Hello guys i have an acer mini pc that runs on linux and through that i use kodi a few days ago when i turned it on and i pressed the kodi icon it came on as i line in the middle of the screen and diappears before i have any time to do anything just for a second or so .Can anybody help what could i do to fix this .Mind you i am a bigginer with linux so PLEASE answer in a very simple way thanx in advance

Who installed Linux and Kodi on your computer?
Did you perform any software updates there?
Do you know version and brand of Linux installed?

hello there and thanx for the reply .A friend installed them no i havent perfomed any updates because it was running ok .The whole thing happened from one day to the next . the ver. of linux is linux mint17.3 roza

How do you start Kodi from there? Do you have an icon on the toolbar, or select it from Applicatins' menu?

I don't have Kodi on Linux right now (so I don't know what that icon is executing), but try following:
- open Terminal
- from "$" prompt, just type "kodi", and post here the result

You can also try updating your system, there is an "Update" application somewhere
