Hey everyone,
Okay, I got a laptop from work that needed a motherboard. So, I replaced it and it now it turns on and functions, well sort of.
Problem #1: Once the laptop is plugged into power, it automatically turns on. When I shutdown the laptop, it turns back on.
Attempted fixes:
Reset power ribbon
Replaced power button
Bios reset to default
Problem #2: I took apart the laptop again to reset the power button cable to the motherboard. And now my touch pad won't work, even the TouchStyk mouse won't work.
Attempted fixes:
Reset ribbon cables
Uninstalled drivers
Reinstalled drivers
Information:
I uninstalled the drivers, and restarted the laptop and the computer knew that it was connected, shows up in device manager, and automatically found the correct driver through Windows Update.
The light to show that the touchpad is disabled is not lit, nor can I double tap to disable it. The buttons nor the touchpad work.
SPECS:
HP Elitebook 8760w
i5 vPro
4gb RAM
500GB HDD
AMD Firepro M5950
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Noah
