I searched for inexpensive ways to fix my broken Ativ Book 8 motherboard, and I came across a repair method called ‘BGA reballing’. The process involves detatching the gpu or cpu using a very expensive tool then replacing the gpu or cpu dots with a reballing device. This process costs $100, and I need to go to a third party computer repair shop to get my laptop reballed.

Should I get my laptop reballed?

Actually flux machines are like millions of dollars. you can buy smaller ones that use stencils to reball small things like CPUs and GPUs, but those are 100k each and need the stencil for that cpu. Hence why it cost you $100 to send it off for someone to do it for you.

If you want to be getto, just throw it in the oven @ 400 for a few minutes. That will heat up the soder enough for reball it.

Dude, I don’t think you are understanding my post.
There’s a computer repair shop that reballs my laptop for $100.
I don’t need to buy tools, I just need to take it to the reapir shop.
