Laptop charger connects and disconnects when plugged in

I have bought a laptop charger for my Toshiba about a month ago. It was working perfectly until i tried to plug it in yesterday. When i plugged it in, it started disconnecting and connecting very rapidly. I tried unplugging and plugging it several times but the issue persisted. I unplugged the charger to refrain causing any problems to my laptop. How do i solve this issue?

Well it sounds like you got a bad charger. If you have only had it a month, it should be under warranty still, so I would return or exchange it. Note, if it is an aftermarket charger, then those are pretty much hit or miss with if the will work correctly, or for long periods. So be careful of what you purchase.
