laptop charges for 2 seconds, then stop

hp probook 4540s. it seems as if the laptop doesn't read the charger. if I remove the battery and try to turn on the laptop, it doesn't start instead a flashing white light from the powerbutton starts to blink. battery status is ok . tried in different wall socket but no luck.

It sounds like you just need to replace the charger cord.
