Since you're going to use them for school, keep in mind that both have mediocre battery life even under normal web browsing and gaming time is even less. Among the 2, the MSI Apache Pro is better for gaming as it's graphics card is much better than the GL Series. Also, for that price, the GL Series is not worth it for gaming as they are cheaper laptops with a Core i5 and GTX 960M(better than the 950M) and is sufficient for moderate gaming. What makes the Apache Pro even better is that it has a 128GB SSD(solid state drive) which faster than traditional HDD(hard drives) and thus, your laptop will boot up faster if the OS is installed in it.

Also, there are different MSI Apache Pro to choose from so be sure to check that out before buying. Ultimately, unless you want to play some demanding games, there are some cheaper laptops that will allow to play not so demanding games at high settings.
