Laptop CPU runs 50-60C at normal use

I bought Lenovo y50-70 with i5 4210h a week ago. Is it normal that CPU temperatures are 50-60C while normal using (firefox, skype, steam)? While gaming i have ~70C in League of Legends and ~80 in Borderlans 2, both at max settings. Thanks!

You have nothing to worry about.

Although If you are worried every year or so you can open the laptop and apply new thermal paste.

Where do you have it sitting?

50c and 60c is very high for just browsing the web, etc.

I have it on my desk. My gf have the same temperatures on Asus K55A.

Laptop components are generally designed to tolerate fairly high temperatures. typically anything under 80-85 C is perfectly fine and within normal range. so your temperatures are actually excellent and well under the safety cap.

And usually the thinner the laptop the more heat it generates.

So according to that it is normal but if its over 75 to 80c it is not normal unless you are gaming.

Gaming temps look normal but for browsing the web it is a bit high. But there is nothing to worry about as the cpu and gpu can take these temps.
