Laptop CPU Utilization drops below CPU Max Core Frequency Freezes Game

When in game, Destiny 2 upon opening the overlay game menu at times my game will freeze with the window sound. The program will be then forced to close. It happens it seems randomly but multiple times while playing. In the intel Tuning app I can see when it happens the CPU Utilization drops way down and just a just a hair under CPU max Core Frequency at the same time I open the overlay. My temps never go over 70C and I've tried having my CPU at 100% and 90%. It is new, updated bios, cleaned inside.

It is a msi raider 63vr.

Do you use the drivers from MSI.com or nvidia.com ? Use the ones from MSI. Use DDU uninstaller to remove all GPU drivers and reinstall the drivers from MSI, especially Intel and Nvidia GPU drivers, chipset drivers too:

Did you install the EC firmware, Intel ME firmware as well?
