Ok so I am beyond needing help with my issue . Recently I purchases an asus q550lf laptop . To match my gaming needs I also purchased a 144hz asus monitor . Now the only way to Recieve 144hz is thru a minidisplayport to DisplayPort cable which I purchased . For 3 weeks it worked fine . Now one day , without any cables moved or what not it just stopped working . When starting the laptop up the monitor would actually wake up and actually work with the asus logo essentially starting up . Right after that , the monitor simply doesn't work and a DisplayPort : no signal error pops up . I've literally tried everything that I can think of and know off . Setting the monitor as dual screens , single screen , I tried different mini display port cables, I've tried system restoring , I've tried updating drivers , deleting drivers , rolling back drivers .... To make things more interesting . When going under my display settings. My monitor actually shows up under the intel graphics tab . As in I can try and make it my only screen . Which it doesn't , it reverts back , aka same DisplayPort no signal error . I've even called asus support to no avail , it seemed I knew more than they did
. But one thing calling support showed me , was interestingly enough , after I deleted my graphics drivers (support tech told me to do it ). My laptop started having problems turning on , which brought up a screen mentioning that windows had a problem starting up , would I like to system restore or restart again , IRONICALLY this notification showed up also on my monitor which so happened to be connected thru DisplayPort ~_~ it essentially worked thru my system restore lol , but the same problem arose afterwards. If anyone has any clue on this funky issue ... I'd be greatly appreciative
