I am going to be starting college in fall 2013 as a computer science major. I do not care about computer weight, only battery life. I have about a budget of 2200$ give or take and I am interested in the MSI GT Series GT70 0NE-452. I have seen multiple reviews that it gets 5 hours+ of battery life. This would be ideal because I could always get a spare battery if needed, but 5 hours or more should easily get me through my day. Can anyone confirm this? I'll be waiting for the haswell processors to get my laptop, but I'm sure this will be a sidestep with upgraded components, but same battery life. Any other brands or suggestions of gaming computers that get at least 5 hours or more? I've also seen high battery life for the Sager NP9150.

5 hours of light loads om HD4000 when battery brand new .... meybe...... figure 1.0 hours gaming w/ the 680M.

I'd lose the 5400 rpm HD on the MSI model tho

The Sager (retail name for Clevo) would be my choice....it's $105ish cheaper for same specs ... but that before max discount

I have 2 of the same model Clevo, one w/ SSD + HD, the other with a Hybrid Seagate Momentus..... ya cant tell which one is which.

Thank you for the insightful feedback, how was your battery life experience? I figure I'll be sitting in lectures for a few hours writing code, or taking notes in word, or using the internet. I'd prefer to get a Sager over MSI as long as the battery life is comparable or exceeds the MSI. Any gaming I do will be while connected to a charger so I'm not worried about that.
