budget:
800 dollars

resolution:
not huge priority, 720p is fine

requirements:
able to play diablo 3 on high settings

so as you can see, not too many requirements. i want to shy away from hp as i've had an hp laptop that had huge heating issues. thanks.

well i just bought this laptop and it wont play diablo 3. I have always built my own desktop gaming rigs and have never had a laptop until now so i dropped $2k for the ASUS flagship and it wont run on the minimum settings i know this is no help to you but maybe someone who reads your forum will be able to help you and me. As of right now i would say no laptop can but i have no experience so dont take my word.
P.S. this is the exact laptop i bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230409

I think you have an unusual problem. Notebookcheck has reviewed Diablo 3, and they determined it should run perfectly fine on a laptop like the one I suggested to heartofgold. If you'd like to start a new thread for the issue you have with your G75, that would be great.

does anyone have personal experience with the a6 3400 series cpus? that, and the notion of overclocking one on a laptop? good/bad?

thank you junky for your input :)

Umm.. I think I speak for most people here when I say that overclocking your laptop is bad. They are not designed to do that, if you want better performance, you'd be better off getting a higher performing laptop.
As for the A6-3400 CPUs, I've used them before. Pretty good, but from testing one, you can tell the difference between it and let's say... the performance of a current Core i3.

gotcha. just reluctant to buy such an outdated model. i'm almost feeling like spending more just so i dont buy outdated technology, but i fear i will have buyers remorse =/
