Laptop for gaming under £1000

Hello!
I am looking for a laptop that will primarily be used for gaming (call of duty, minecraft, gta, sims 4) but also sometimes for watching movies (not the main use). Ideally it would be under £800 but the budget can be stretched to £1000. My current laptop's processor is intel core i3, so for my new laptop i7 would be preferred. I'd also like 16GB RAM but 8GB is fine also.

For starters, I suggest a video reviewing Dell Inspiron 15 7000 and Acer VX 15. Both only have an i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM though. They are 850 USD and 800 USD, respectively.

Preferably 15inch screen, at least one USB port and a disk drive is not important

This one is headed to the top of the budget...just a warning. But it has a gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb of ram, an i7 7th gen, and a nice backlit keyboard. Oh, and it’s got 3 usb 3.0 ports.

Probably what I would have suggested as well, you typically will not find these specs at this price point although I find Lenovo does a great job of packing nice features and build quality into an affordable unit.

Currently typing from a Lenovo Ideapad 720s, and my brother has the Y520.

I know that my father had a Lenovo thinkpad and it worked beautifully for him. Now that Lenovo is going into the gaming business, they probably have released some good products, in this case, what I recommended.
