Hello all,

I am a high school student. I need an ultra book that is both portable and powerful. I have a fairly firm $500 budget, and do a lot of CAD work. It will not be used for gaming, only CAD work and some light coding.

It is crucial that it is an ultrabook--I cannot imagine lugging a workstation around. Might I add: this needs to last me three more years (until I graduate).

Thoughts?
Thanks

The cheapest I would go is $1000 as you will probably need a gtx 960m. If you are serious about cad then the price increases a lot as you need a workstation and these are very expensive.

How would you compare it to these?:

I am really feeling the first one, but I need some insight. I am by no means an expert...

The Lenovos do not have solid state hard drives, so will be slower. The Acer had an SSD but Acer is a tier behind Lenovo and Asus for reliability. Outside of the hard drive speed, they are all about the same speed.
