Hey everyone,
I'll start my course in portugal in "engenharia informática" probably equivalent to computer science in most places. I decided that it was time to invest in a laptop for both programming and gaming. After all my research I ended up thinking in a few specs that I would like to have, and I wanted a opinion. Here is my list: intel core i7 - 7xxx; nvidia gtx 1050ti 4gb or better? 1060...70... (i'm more than ok with a 50ti); An ssd and hdd for obvious reasons; 17+inch display; 16gb Ram (or more, never less).
This is mostly what I've had in my mind while searching, what do you think? I am being too greedy? This laptop is meant to last more than 5 years... My budget is like 1500$ / 1300€
Any suggestions? Thank you everyone :)

You can't upgrade the video card in just about every laptop, nor the CPU, so get the fastest video card you can afford now if you want to play current games on the laptop in several years at past low settings. About specific models, that is tougher since each area of the world has different pricing and models available. This is a good range of systems with a 17" screen, http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-gaming-laptops-ct-118-96-98.html#!/dir=asc&no_cache=true&order=price&size=13 in your price range you are looking at systems with a 1060 video card, prices really vary a bit depending on what drive and what size you want in it. Maybe a 1050 card paired with a good size SSD, but try to get a 1060.
