laptop freezes when display starts flickering

why does my lenovo s7 thinkpad keep on freezing every time a few minutes after i had restarted it? The freezing starts with the display starting to flicker and app icons start jumping around its impossible to activate any buttons on the screen then and all I can domes press control alt delete on keyboard which brings up the page to choose between taskbar and switching off or restarting the laptop which I always do . Once started up again ir
T's fine for 20min and then it happens. I noticed this usually happens afterni have opened a graphic app like photos or art apps like ArtRage - can someone pleas advice? Would resetting the laptop help ? All my drivers are up to date

Hi,

Before you go ahead and do a Factory Reset with the laptop, I would try updating the graphics card driver this way:

1. Uninstall the old driver from Programs and Feature then in Device Manager.
2. Download the latest driver from the graphics card manufacturer. (Links for NVIDIA and AMD website below)

- http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
3. If all these steps failed last resort would be do a Factory Reset.
