Laptop games suddenly lagging

Hello i bought an hp laptop 1.5 years ago. It used to work fine. But since 2 months it has started lagging in games like hell. I have reset my laptop and then updated all the drivers and got it cleaned too. Specs:- intel core i5 @ 2.6ghz 4 gb ram 1 gb radeon 8670m graphics 1 tb hdd 2790 mb intel hd 4000 graphics Also everything is set to high performance. Any help will be appreciated.

So, the same game that worked fine before is now lagging?

Is it primarily online games?

Have you checked the CPU and RAM usage percentages to see if you have a memory leak or anything else like that?

possibly a dirty heatsink or dirty exhaust or something similar

Yeah its the same game.
I play offline games
ram and cpu usage remain 40 to 45%

it doesn't lag all through the games
first it remains fine for like 5 min and then lags for 1 min after every 5 min
