Hey

I am looking for a laptop which will let me play diablo 3, StarCraft 2, league of legends, counterstrike and also be able to handle newer games to some degree if necessary. I previously had a MSI with a 5870 GPU and an i5 pro. I no longer have this and need something to take its place.

The laptop will also be used by the rest of the house for internet and general use stuff. I am hoping to get something in the region of 500-700 post pounds.

I'm based in the UK and am also wondering whether to go for someone like PC specialist who build a laptop for you... Not sure.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers

OK thanks for the advice, they seem for the power of the machines to be good value for money. There isnt really a comparative unit from one of the brands. I read somewhere that mysyn laptop builders were better and offer a better warranty. What would you recommend as the config for this machine? Are there any alternatives out there?

you won't get better for this price. Mysn is much more expensive

1080p
I5 4210M
8GB RAM
gtx 850M
scorpion black HDD (size is up to you)
arctic thermal paste
gigabit wireless card ( preferably the 7260 series)
silver warranty.
£620 ish.
if you have an OS already, then you can take off the OS, add an I7 processor and potentially an SSD.

There are 2 of the 7260 wireless cards. Ac or n, which should I choose? Also I set everything else up the same and it comes in at £697 with a 500gb Scorpio black.

difference between ac and n wireless cards is that it depends on what type of network your accessing.
If you're in somewhere like university constantly where there's more focus on wifi with loads of people connecting to it, you'll want the ac
if you're just at home then get the n version.
It shouldn't come to £697, what edits are you making.

I simply do not believe this, when I wrote the answer the price was either that low or the browser lagged and didn't adjust the price. Very sorry about that. You could save money by going without the 1080p screen, but that's quite a significant loss.
Well either way this sort of config would cost more normally, it seems very solid.

He he that's cool. Well I have an interesting choice now.... If I order from pcw I could get it in 2 days.. Also looks like they have the soundblaster card and kind of gives me somewhere local if anything was to go wrong. Will let ya know what I decide as I have a family member working at pcw I should get the 10% off.

Thanks for all your help
